Life Goals

Ever since I finished University and then starting my career, I've started to set goals and the things I want to achieve in my life. Now that I earn my own money, I start to save and have financial goals. To be honest, I regret not saving up much before this.

So now, I have dreams, I have things that I want to achieve in life. Let me just list out some of my life goals that I want to achieve by my mid 30s InsyaAllah:

  1. Masters Degree
  2. Travel to another 10 Countries
  3. Live/ work overseas
  4. Financial Independence - 6 months of spending $$ readily available at any point of time and start some investments
  5. Haji or Umrah or both
  6. Live on my own independently (either locally or overseas)

I've actually recently thought about applying for masters program in NTU where the cost of it is subsidised. I'm planning to take part time because I am currently working and at least I can support myself for this masters and not take loans for the fees. So I want to have more savings goals and try my best to save up the most that I can. I really need to take my low buy seriously and save up the money to do that.

If you see here, marriage does not even fall in my life goals. Maybe perhaps that's after 30 or 35 InsyaAllah. It's just a society thing that there's a pressure for women to get married at a younger age. I personally don't see the urgency and I think I want to save up for my future more than ever. But if it's really meant to be and Allah introduced me to my jodoh, then it shall be.

“They plan, and Allah plans. Surely, Allah is the Best of planners.” – [Quran, 8:30]. Whatever that I want to achieve and plan, surely Allah is the best of planners and whatever it is that is to come I will accept them with open arms. I will try my best to remain consistent to follow up with my goals and keep up with doa for whatever that is good for me.

May Allah grant goodness in all that I do and may I do good for the sake of my afterlife. Aamiin.
