1 month of low buy
It's time for another low buy update! Ok one month into this and I splurged when my pay comes in. I've actually purchased the following items when the month end came:
1. apple magic keyboard
2. 2 pieces of naelofar scarves
3. organic basics bra
4. calaqisya white blouse
5. a slightly more expensive gift for a friend (77.50)
To be honest after spending all this, I felt really really guilty about it. For the naelofar scarves, I actually regretted buying 2 pieces and should've bought just 1. And I also splurge on some ice cream that were like 18.90 for 2 tubs (vegan ice cream). I really regretted after awhile getting those ice cream because it's not like I'm avid lover of ice cream and I could've saved some money other than buying those.
I'm really proud of myself for withstanding not buying so many things during the whole month and only bought the stuffs which were really essential. I mainly spent money on food and actually have exceeded my budget for groceries. What I learn from the past month is that I can actually wait to purchase something to really think about whether it is really needed. Like keyboard, I considered for awhile before purchasing it (10 days to be exact). For other minimalist/ low buy advocates, I'm sure they will wait even longer for it.
At the start I was really inspired by a few youtubers and hence, I was really determined for the low buy. I think I need to find more motivation to keep up with the low buy. I think I need to be more intentional with it and be more serious. I feel that I don't really take it seriously and spend like I have the money to spend when I am actually trying to save up.
Last month October, I've exceeded my budget for groceries. I think I'm going to exceed this month's budget as well. Idk if I should actually reduce my spending on groceries (I probably should) or I should increase the budget. 🤔
It still a mix of a I want to resist but at the same I want to spend especially because it's at the ease of pressing a button or just tapping my phone/ card. But I do realise after deleting the shopping apps and not going on them on my laptop and not going out (I think I still can resist buying stuffs on physical stores) I am able to stop myself from buying. When I look at the stuffs in physical stores, I have the urge to buy but when I rethink about what I already have and the thing is probably similar to the one I already have, I am able to stop myself from purchasing. BUT, if it's something that I don't have then at times it might be harder to push the urge but so far I was able to.
For the remaining months of November, I really just want to spend on food/ groceries and no more purchasing new stuffs. :/ Let's pray I can maintain this goal.
