second week of low buy
[20 October 2020, Tuesday]
I am back with another low buy update!! Ok so I've been reading up on a book called "the year of less" by Cait Flanders. This book is everything that I needed starting this low buy journey. She actually did a year of less basically limiting herself to buying stuffs (she had an addiction to buying clothes) and decluttered almost everything she had and saving up to almost 50% of her income a month. She went through a whole lot of other bad habits that she have to stop and how she stop the addiction to all those stuffs.
For this week, I've been mainly spending on food and basic travel necessities. Mainly those that I eat out and grocery stuff. The past week I've spent about a total of $80.29. I think it is actually quite a lot. Surprisingly the cost for the giant supermarket spend was more than usual. It was almost $30 and I actually was just putting stuffs into my basket without even keeping track of the supposedly $20-25 grocery limit weekly. I also spent some money on lunch with my mother and I actually don't mind that. Below is the attached screenshot of the stuffs that I spent on.
My aim for the following week is to spend less than $50. For one I'm going eat out probably once and I'll budget that to $10. Then I'm going on a picnic and have to buy some food to cook to bring. So probably another $10. I'm going to go out tomorrow so I might go to work at a cafe so I'm probably budgeting that to $10. InsyaAllah to all of this.

I'm currently continuing this blog post while being at a cafe in PLQ mall. Before sitting at this cafe, I actually went to a few shops and even tried some jeans at Levi's. There was a sale for a particular jeans cutting that I'm interested in, half price to be exact. I was also on zalora looking at the ribcage jeans from levi's on there and they are actually having a 45% off. I'm really tempted to get them tbh but is it really worth it. I never invested in good quality jeans before and I don't actually know if now is the time for it as my mood to wear jeans differ time to time especially living in Singapore as the weather is hot and not suitable for jeans sometimes.
I'm actually proud of myself for not buying any clothes since last Monday that I order those bras from organic basics. And before that the last time I bought clothing items was on 30 Sept when I bought jeans from uniqlo for $14.90 which was really worth it and just what I was looking for.
Ok I guess that's all for the update for the period of 13-20 Oct and will be back hopefully next week to keep myself accountable on the low buy journey.
