Reflection on life.... October 2020
Change is the only constant in life. It may make us feel uncomfortable but it is the perfect opportunity for growth.
To be honest, in my head I have so much that I want to achieve and be doing in my current life. I just love how people are living their lives as independent women living in their own apartments and I also want that. While on the other hand, in this region of mine, people who are about my age or even younger are building a family and having children.
While a part of me want to be an independent woman living on my own, a part of me also do want to have that family part. I'm really in a position in life where I feel like I want so many things but I can't achieve them just yet. I want to travel the world, I want to live overseas, work overseas, have my own apartment that I can decorate and have my little cafe corner.
Keeping up with the topic on change I realize I need to change my spending habits. Just last month, I realize I spend so much on things that I could've been saving the money for. I think if I actually save those money for the past few months, I could've probably have quite a bit of savings by now. I don't even know why I am so consumed to purchase things online and even in stores since I can go to stores now. I NEED TO CHANGE THIS.
Recently I have discovered a channel called style by apotheca. She used to be a fashionista who was a shopaholic and buys clothes non-stop. But last year she did a low buy year. She only bought things that were really necessary and essential and budget for stuffs every month. She only buys things if she has the cash for it (debit card too). She started heading towards minimalism and styling with just whatever she has and decluttering every 3 months or so. I want to start this now.
I want to start my low buy from today onwards on 5 October 2020. I do realize that I probably have to spend some money on gifts this month but I will make that an exception. I really don't mind spending my money for gifting and I see it as a form of donation and those money were meant to be spend for people.
Here are some of the rules for my low buy/ keeping within a budget:
- Gifts for each person is permissible with a budget = $50/ person (birthday or special occasion)
- Grocery budget = $100
- Eating out budget = $100
- Transport budget = $60 (max $100)

- 2 packets of coffee beans. Budget = $35
- New coffee shops budget = $30 (~3 shops)
- Infak = $100
- Phone bill = $50
